POSITION SUMMARY
To transport guest vehicles in a prompt and courteous manner to and from the parking structure using safe driving practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates vehicle using safe driving practices to ensure safe delivery of vehicle to and from the parking garage
Tickets vehicle, writing guest name, room number, car license, make/model, amount of charge and length of stay on ticket. Follows established procedures for car control, including but not limited to maintaining neat, accurate logs of keys and completing required valet parking log sheets and reports. Retrieves information on guest vehicles and claim checks using Valet desk computer system as needed
Greets and thanks guests in proper English, using a clear, pleasant voice. Responds to inquiries with accurate information regarding directions to local attractions, car rentals, meeting rooms, etc., according to individual needs. Assists guests with taxi services, wheelchair requests, parking options, etc.
Promptly answers Valet phone using positive and clear English communication. Verbally arranges and confirms parking valet requests form guests and makes appropriate arrangements for bell desk services. Responds accurately to general inquires regarding hotel services and attractions
Assists Door Attendant in opening car doors and unloading/loading of luggage to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the valet area, issuing claim checks and tagging bags as needed
Assists guests with check-in procedures

Maintains cleanliness of the guest vehicle by taking care to return the vehicle as the guest left it

Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet
Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Check guests for proper identification. Detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained. Demonstrate knowledge of liquor laws.
Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served
Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys
Locks up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Read, write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of other languages, especially Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge of inventories, scheduling and productivity.
High school math level required.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form.
Ability to inspect 25 to 80 rooms per day.
Ability to clean rooms, when needed.
Physically able to move and / or operate large objects, such as: maid’s carts, suite furniture, large bags of linen, vacuum cleaners and boxes of inventory.
Ability to follow and enforce all hotel standards, including safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
Knowledge of and ability to operate computer.
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE
1-2 years housekeeping supervisory experience in hotel preferred.
4 or more years hotel housekeeping experience.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Special licenses or certificates are not required but considered a plus.
GROOMING/UNIFORMS
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.
Notice:
The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
